It is imperative that attorneys are aware of the significance of the December 2006 amendments to the FRCP and how the amendments affect the way law is practiced today. Attorneys are responsible to their firms and to their clients for managing e-correspondence in compliance with these and other rules regarding e-discovery.
LTA Legal Technology Association. Regency Training and Consulting is a member of LTA. Regency Training and Consulting founder, Charlotte Gerdes, was featured as a guest panelist at the first LTA Legal Trainers' Panel in November, 2006.
The LTA represents professionals working in law firms and corporations that provide support and other services to the legal community. Its members' expertise ranges from end users to IS managers to network integrators. LTA also has professional training and technical support firms and consultants as members.
The LTA consists of personnel in the legal community gathering to research, explore, study, compare, gain and share information about computer equipment, peripherals, applications and software programs which may be of significance, interest, help and benefit to the legal community. It encourages professionalism in the exchange of technical knowledge, ideas and information between law firms and other legal-related professions.
ILTA International Legal Technology Association. ILTA (formerly LawNet) is the premier peer networking organization, providing technology information resources to members in order to make technology work for the legal profession.
ILTA's Peer Groups provide opportunities for online communities of professionals who share common interests to work together for the common enlightenment of the group. Each group has a listserv, and many work with ILTA's staff in developing seminars, webinars and publications.
ILTA's 30th Annual Educational Conference took place August 20 - 23, 2007 at Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando, FL. In addition to the structured educational experience, an exhibit hall featuring over 150 key vendors to the legal market was available for exploration.
